This week we learned that we have officially been awarded a $1.97 MILLION dollar grant to generate a first-in-kind microfluidically integrated multi-organ system that recreates bone marrow-lung axis, using primary human-derived cells, for real-time analysis of inflammation and leukocyte mobilization in response to emerging respiratory viruses. This U01 award from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) at the National Institutes of Heath (NIH) provides 5 years of funding for this project. (09.20.19)
